Text information is validated with a specific set of rules. With the character separation process, the characters are removed from the image and optical character recognition is performed. Country-specific syntax and geometric checks are performed. All these processes are performed simultaneously and in real time. This significantly speeds up the video analysis process on cameras. In addition, the interior of the vehicles is blurred to protect the personal image rights of those inside the vehicle. The resulting text information can then be compared with databases to, for example, identify vehicle owners or detect stolen vehicles.
